Following the internet consultation, the Dutch Council of Ministers has approved the legislative proposal with slight adjustments. The most important adjustment is that co-government authorities such as municipalities and provinces will be able to gain access to the register if it is necessary to prevent the government from being abused for criminal activities.
The proposal will now be sent to the Council of State for its advice, after which the parliament will discuss the proposal.
