The draft amendment on creating a Central Register of Shareholders within the Chamber of Commerce of the Netherlands.
July 19, 2013 - A Central Register of Shareholders containing the complete information on all existing shareholders will be lodged in the Chamber of Commerce (CoC).
Minister of Security and Justice of the Netherlands, Ivo Opstelten, wants to increase transparency of active shareholders of LLCs (B.V.’s) in his fight against tax evasion and other forms of fraud.
This Central Registrer will not be available to the general public, but only to notaries and governmental organizations that need additional information for investigating economic crimes. The shareholders will also be given access to the data.
Other proposed amendments and legislative changes.
Until the end of the year new changes to the law on bankruptcy are also expected to be introduced.
The new changes foresee provision of early and better assistance in prevention of bankruptcy.
